COLOURPOP | Mulan

After 2 months of waiting (I ordered around mid March, their warehouse was closed due to COVID), I finally got my Mulan makeup from ColourPop!

Size compared to a Morphe palette – it’s def smaller, about 1.13 gram each. I can’t find the Morphe packaging. Good thing eyeshadow takes a long time to use up so it doesn’t matter much

Ooof the quality of the glitter is less than desirable. Can you tell the texture is super chunky?

I haven’t tried any of ColourPop’s eyeshadow palettes yet, the last ones I tried are the cream ish eyeshadows from Hello Kitty (post here). I tried Strike A Match on my eye earlier and it flakes sooo much. I will probably use more of the matte shades. If you missed out on this collection you’re probably ok, it doesn’t seem that special other than packaging. I often wonder how they make the swatches look so smooth on their posters (below).

For $22 it’s probably not worth it as an eyeshadow palette, more of a collector’s item

Now to the more exciting part: LIPSTICK

Shade is “Hua Mulan” a rosey pink according to Colurpop

1 layer vs 2 layers

Not really my preferred shade but it’s a nice rosy color. The formula is quite nice, applies really thinly so you don’t feel a lot of product on your lips, but is very pigmented. I am really impressed for how it looks on my dry flake in the middle of my lip, it almost seems like it’s not there. I would repurchase again if I saw really cute packaging. If you’ve been eye-ing it, the Luxe lipstick is worth trying!

$9 for 0.12 oz / 3.5 g – the packaging has a nice weight to it, I can see why it’s their “luxe” lipstick

Have you tried ColourPop makeup? In addition to their cream single shadows, I have tried their liquid lipsticks (review here, too drying) and haven’t bought anything else since.

Sephora Spring 2019 Haul

Every year I’m like I will buy less stuff

This is probably the “least” I’ve bought from the sales, and products I will actually use!

MUFE Matte Velvet Skin powder ($38 retail) – I heard about this from a Taiwanese blogger who said this is her holy grail powder foundation. I realized powder foundations are really great if used with the right sponge, so I’m excited!

Fenty mini highlight and lip gloss ($23 retail) – heard about it from the same blogger. I literally looked at this, put it back. A week later, saw it again and decided I want it. I orig wanted to try her lip gloss but the mini size is always better for hoarders who never use their makeup up (me)

Shiseido SPF 38 ($38 retail) – I have the SPF 38 cream (in a tube) which is no longer sold at Sephora. This one has really great reviews and I generally trust Japanese skincare – also I have a lot of SPF 50 sunblocks, and I hear you’re not supposed to use such a high # on a daily basis

NARS Orgasm Jumbo ($40 retail) – I have a mini size of this, but the packaging was too beautiful to pass up. It’s also sold out so… I guess it was a good buy

Charlotte Tilbury Bronze & Glow ($68 retail) – this brand is seems overpriced, but I’ve actually been using bronzers lately and I’ve heard from multiple reviews/Youtubers that this one is very pretty.

What did you guys get?

My friends and I order on the same account so we get the ROUGE discount 😀 otherwise idk if the benefits are really worth it to spend $1k a year

Sephora Black Friday 2017

I never understand these app exclusive things. What do they get out of us being in the app? Someone tell me

^ I’ve purchased the Philosophy cleanser at least twice, it’s decent but I prefer cleansing oils now. I have easily clogged pores and never felt like Purity cleansed well in that aspect

^ I have the minis of the Living Proof set. It’s not bad but nothing amazing

The FAB Ultra Repair cream is good for your body bc it absorbs pretty quickly, I don’t think it’s super moisturizing if you have dry skin though (at least for my face)

I think the most intriguing thing to me out of everything is the Tocca perfume rollerballs

The miracle water seems decent, but I am going to Korea so I can’t buy any skin care until at least next year some time

^ I’ve tried the Philosophy Hope in a Jar (day) white jar. It’s kind of thin and not that moisturizing if have dry or combination skin

Def never gonna wear any of these colors realistically, aesthetically pleasing though

What do you think? Are you going to buy anything? I can only see myself getting a perfume

MASCARA | Benefit Roller Lash

My friend gifted me this for my birthday because it’s one of her favorite mascaras. I’m always hesitant with non waterproof mascaras because my lashes are very straight and doesn’t hold a curl without a good waterproof mascara. 

Pretty defining

Sadly this is another one that makes my lashes straight. It seems to look good length and volume wise though
