EYESHADOW | Too Faced Born This Way The Natural Nudes

Kinda cheap packaging but seems better for travel

Apparently a lot of shades in here are similar to the Charlotte Tilbury quads, which are quite pricy. The shades in here are definitely practical for everyday, but I much prefer the matte shades. The shimmers are ok but it’s a bit thicker in texture and doesn’t look as “translucent” as the Charlotte Tilbury Exagger’Eyes (photos here) or the Tom Ford 20 Disco Dust shimmer shade, which are my favorites. I’ve been using shimmers mostly for the middle of my lid and I feel like the edges are slightly harsher than the other ones. In my experience with Too Faced palettes (e.g. chocolate or peach), they tend to “move” down my undereye and have a little more fallout. This one is no exception but I think the shades overall is more practical for most people.

Price: $48 for eight 0.5g shadows (shimmers) and eight 1g shadows (mattes)

EYESHADOW | Integrate x Hello Kitty

The shimmer shadows are nicely textured with a sheen. The glitters on a right are a little textured, Charlotte Tilbury and Tom Ford def do better glitter shades that look iridescent, but the price difference is there. 2 years ago I wouldnt be into this color scheme but low and behold I like shimmers/glitters now! Putting them in the middle of the lid is really pretty. Per ush it comes with instructions I won’t fully follow

Price: $20 (less in Asia). A little pricy but who are we kidding, this is Hello Kitty. I got mine from eBay (Taiwanese seller) but AlphaBeauty apparently carries it too

Have you tried Integrate products? I don’t see them much in the Bay Area but apparently it’s a popular brand in Taiwan/Japan

EYESHADOW | Tom Ford Nude Dip

The dust bag is a little short for the quad if I compared it to the white one
I was a little suspicious about the price (also considering Amazon) but the packaging feels the same as my Macy’s bought one. Only difference I can tell is the brush and sponge tips dont seem as well made
Suqqu Yuushakuyaku vs Tom Ford Nude Dip
Emmm so the shadows are basically the same color but I think Suqqu shadows feel silkier

Of course Suqqu isnt as commonly available in the US. I guess I bought the same shades exact shades o_O but there really wasnt any other quads I wanted from Tom Ford. On Amazon I also didn’t see other options for this $42.99 price (for 6g of product, 1.5g per pan).

I was very suspicious why it’s so inexpensive but I checked the batch number, it looks like my Macy’s bought one was A79 (July 2019) whereas this was A68 (June 2018). Not a big deal really for this price difference, to me eyeshadows last a long time. A few months ago I saw Tom Ford’s website sell their limited edition quad Soleil Et Lune for 1/2 price too. I was kind of annoyed since I had gotten it 20% off.

Have you tried any Tom Ford makeup? What do you think? So far I’ve only tried the eyeshadow and lipstick. The brand is definitely overpriced

EYESHADOW | Suqqu

I dont love the dirt/grime accumulating on this surface

I’m starting to realize I forget to post about products I use often or travel with. So here we go

A very no frills neutral palette. The only thing “wrong” people might find is there is no matte shade but they blend out pretty well that I don’t need a matte shade. I don’t love the packaging as it is not particularly fancy or luxe, but whenever I travel/sleepover this is the palette I bring (I think I’ve dropped it once or twice but everything was fine). I used travel with a Maybelline eyeshadow palette (that’s discontinued) but Suqqu has a large mirror. The shadows are very high quality and possibly the best I own compared to other palettes. They have a lot of other shades that are more colorful, but I think I’ll be trying less expensive shadows for fun shades (e.g. Canmake and Excel is on my list).

I noticed more recently that I don’t love traveling with larger eyeshadow palettes (e.g. Urban Decay, Too Faced, Huda Beauty) so it’s nice to have quads like this.

Suqqu is a luxury Japanese brand that isn’t as easily accessible in the US, I think Selfridges is the least expensive place to buy it.

Price: $50 on Selfridges for 0.19 oz / 5.6 g (roughly 1.4 g per shadow, pretty generous). It’s actually cheaper than the Charlotte Tilbury quad in US prices. The price is $53 now as of Nov 2020

$3 EYESHADOW | E.L.F.

Shimmers applies more smoothly than matte shades

There’s some rumors this is a Natasha Denona mini palette dupe. While I have not tried ND palettes, I do think $3 is still a steal for a quad. I picked Cream & Sugar bc it has light and dark shades so you can do an eye look with this palette alone. Some of their other shades consist mostly of darker colors and no highlighting shade.

As you can see, the shimmer shades are slightly smoother than the mattes, which are a bit chalky. I tried it on my eye earlier and it looks decent but didn’t wow me. If you’re not sure you will wear eyeshadow often, this is a cute little palette to try. If you already own a bunch of eyeshadows, this will not add much to your collection. I will probably try a ND mini palette at the next Sephora sale just to see what the hype is all about

Price: $3 for 0.12 oz / 3.5 g for 4 shades. Get it on Amazon
